Jacque Rodrigue, board chairman of the organization Louisiana A+ Schools, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the purpose of his group and the inclusion of three schools from north Louisiana.

More details from the Caddo Parish Public Schools:

"Louisiana A+ Schools (LAA+) Board Chairperson Jacques Rodrigue will announce three schools from Caddo Parish Public Schools accepted into the network, including North Highlands Elementary, Summer Grove Elementary and Westwood Elementary School.

Louisiana A+ Schools is a research-based whole school program with a mission of nurturing creativity in every learner through an arts-integrated school network.  These three schools will join twenty-one schools throughout the state in the Louisiana A+ Schools network, including South Highlands Elementary Magnet and Mooringsport Elementary School.

LAA+ is the first whole school arts-integrated reform initiative of its kind to enter Louisiana. The LAA+ network provides teachers with the essentials to think more creatively about how students can apply learning to the real world, and how they can present curricula to students in ways they learn best."
