Early voting for the October election begins this Saturday, September 30.

Early voting will be held each day from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. from this Saturday, through Saturday, October 7, 2017, with the exception of Sunday. There is no early voting on Sunday.

On the ballot in Acadiana, there are two races, the race for State Treasurer and the race of Public Servic Commission, District 2.

There are three candidates on the ballot for the Public Service Commision, and they are as follows:

  • Damon J. Badone   (Republican)
  • Craig C. Greene      (Republican)
  • Lenar Whitney         (Republican)

In the race for State Treasuer of Louisiana, there are six candidates. There are as follows:

  • Angele Davis        (Republican)
  • Derrick Edwards   (Democrat)
  • Terry Hughes        (Republican)
  • Joseph T. Little     (Libertarian)
  • Neil Riser              (Republican)
  • John Schoder       (Repubclican)

There are also three constitutional amendments on the ballot that voters will have to make a decision about.
