UL Softball Will Fight Cold Weather In Oklahoma

It won't exactly be ideal conditions for college softball this weekend, when the 11th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns take part in the Oklahoma Courtyard Marriott Tournament in Norman, Oklahoma.

Louisiana, who is scheduled to face Oregon St. and Oklahoma, each twice, will play in chilly conditions on Friday, before the weather turns downright cold on Saturday.

As a matter of fact, the projected cold weather forced a change in the tournament schedule earlier this week.

Originally, UL was scheduled to play Oregon St. and Oklahoma on Friday, while facing Oregon St. on Saturday and Oklahoma on Sunday.

Due to the projected cold temperatures, Sunday has been eliminated, and the Cajuns will now face Oregon St.(11:30 am) and Oklahoma (4:30 pm), before taking on Oregon St. (11:30 am) and Oklahoma (2 pm) again on Saturday.

Friday doesn't look great, but it will be the best day of the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and an afternoon high of 48.

Temperatures will be falling throughout the afternoon on Friday however, and it will likely be downright cold when the Cajuns face Oklahoma in their second game of the day.

An early morning low in Norman on Saturday is expected to dip to 29 degrees.

Saturday will be even worse, with a 40% chance of rain, mainly in the evening, in the forecast.

A high on Saturday is only expected to peak at 39 degrees, with winds blowing from the north/northeast at 18 mph, making it feel even colder than the actual temperature.

An early morning low in Norman on Sunday is expected to drop to about 23 degrees.

A high on Sunday is only expected to get to 28 degrees, with winds blowing from the northeast at 14 mph, which is why they did the smart thing, and condense the tournament to two days.

Hopefully, the Cajuns will get in all four games, but they'll have to fight the cold to do it.
