UNO Creates New Endowed Chair
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A big donation is going to allow the University of New Orleans to set up an endowed chair for the college's hotel-restaurant program.
Gloria Kabacoff has given UNO $600,000 to set up the endowed chair. She is the widow of Lester E. Kabacoff, a businessman who helped create the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration at UNO in 1975. The school is named after Lester Kabacoff.
The gift will be augmented by $400,000 in matching funds to create the position for a distinguished scholar.
