UPDATE: 22-year-old Marlon Woods has been arrested and charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal use of a Dangerous Weapon. Lafayette Police Department spokesman Sgt. Wayne Griffin says Woods was apprehended by the Western District of Louisiana's US Marshal Violent Offender Task Force.


A female victim is recovering after being shot early Wednesday morning in the 100 block of Harrison Street in Lafayette.

PIO Sgt. Wayne Griffin with the Lafayette Police Department says the victim was able to meet officers at a nearby location around 3:00 a.m. after being shot once.

The suspect was able to get away.

The investigation continues.
