Victim Survives Fight with 3 Suspects, 1 Arrest Made in Lafayette

One suspect has been arrested and charged with Simple Battery following an alleged fight between a victim and three suspects.

In a press release, Lafayette Police Department PIO Sergeant Wayne Griffin says the incident happened in the 400 block of Vieux Orleans Road on Saturday evening. The argument turned violent when the three suspects allegedly began hitting the victim. Sergeant Griffin says one of the suspects had a gun, which discharged as he was hitting the victim with it. Fortunately, the bullet didn't hit the victim.

The victim is recovering from his injuries in a local hospital.

Officers are looking for the other two suspects.
