Vitter On Latest Fed. Court Ruling Against Obamacare
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Sen. David Vitter today made the following comments after a federal judge in Florida struck down the Obama administration’s health care law as unconstitutional:
“This ruling, coupled with the prior court decision in Virginia, is further confirmation of what I and so many others have been saying all along about Obamacare: that it’s an unconstitutional overreach by the federal government that infringes on the rights of Louisianians and their doctors to make their own health care decisions,” said Vitter. “As this case makes its way toward the Supreme Court, I’ll continue working in the Senate to defund and dismantle Obamacare while pushing my own bill to repeal it outright.”
Immediately after Congress passed the health care legislation last March, Vitter filed a bill to repeal it outright.
Vitter recently reintroduced his Obamacare repeal bill
as part of a package of nearly 40 bills he introduced on the first day of the 112th Congress that senators were allowed to officially submit legislation.
