Can You Believe Waylon Jennings’ Songs Were Pulled From Radio Stations? Neither Can We

Recently, a story on Facebook shared the news that radio stations in Nashville were pulling all Waylon Jennings songs from their library after protests from a few groups that were offended by lyrics from a particular song, specifically 'Luckenbach, Texas'.

As people read the headline and began sharing, frustrations and anger began to spread regarding the actions taken as comments grew.

In what I can only describe as a social experiment and mirroring current headlines regarding the Christmas song 'Baby, It's Cold Outside', iHeart contributor Russ Rollins wrote the story as a way to show the human response to headlines without fully reading and vetting the story before sharing. While a cursory reading of the story seemed fairly straightforward, the deeper one got a little suspect.

From the organizations mentioned including The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) and the State Wide Suicide Prevention of Tennessee (SWSPT), they protested the fact that Waylon sang 'The only two things in life that make it worth livin'
Is guitars that tune good and firm feelin' women' in that it offended overweight individuals.

It really took a turn when the program director interviewed worked for 103.9 FAT PIG COUNTRY...

Finally, at the end of the story, the reveal - (This story was completely made up by Russ Rollins, sadly in 2018, It's not hard to believe.)

The moral of the story? Don't believe everything you read, and read everything completely before sharing on social media.
