Woman Arrested for Theft of Items From Cemetery

On Friday morning, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a female who was observed stealing flowers from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Cecilia.

Following an investigation, Deputies were able to identify and locate the subject who was identified as Rhonda Lagrange of Arnaudville. After further investigation, a search warrant was obtained for Rhonda Lagrange’s residence.

Investigators say stolen silk flowers, flower arrangements, religious statues, vases, and other religious memorabilia were recovered.

Lagrange has been arrested and booked with simple burglary.

Two previous reports of thefts were currently being investigated by police dating back to December.

It has now been revealed that several other thefts went unreported as other victims have come out to report recent thefts of items from the cemetery
