Parents who want to send their children to private school next year through the voucher program have until Feb. 27 to submit their applications.

The taxpayer-funded program allows parents of students in poorly-performing schools to send their children to private schools participating in the program. Next year 129 schools will participate, but only 91 will accept new students, according to a report from the Advocate.

Nearly 7,400 students enrolled in the program for the 2014-2015 school year.

Decisions for the 2015-2016 school year will be made the week of April 6.
