Rand Paul Goes Mr. Smith On The Senate

The Senator from the State of Kentucky has decided that he really wants to stand up against an appointment that the President wants to make.  Senator Rand Paul has continued an old fashioned filibuster throughout the day today, saying at the start,

I rise today to begin to filibuster John Brennan’s nomination for the CIA.  I will speak until I can no longer speak.

Senator Paul has continued in the style of Jimmy Stewart from "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington."  The interesting thing is that several senators have joined him to assist.  They have included Senators Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Jerry Moran, Marco Rubio, Saxby Chambliss and Pat Toomey.

Now, Harry Reid has said that there will not be a vote tonight on the confirmation.
