US Postal Service Discontinuing Saturday Mail Delivery
The US Postal Service will be discontinuing first class mail delivery on Saturdays beginning on August 1, 2013. However, priority mail and packages will continue to be delivered six days a week.
The change comes as a money saving maneuver for the financially strapped US Postal Service. The USPS expect to save around $2 billion annually by eliminating Saturday delivery.
The USPS is expected to announce the service change Wednesday afternoon.
