40-year-old Elizabeth Demouchet and 18-year-old Marquia Mitchell - both of Breaux Bridge - have been arrested for their alleged roles in a shooting that happened on March 11 in the area of Hebert Avenue near its intersection with Benoit Road.

The incident has been described by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office as "a large disturbance involving several subjects."

Each of the women have been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

ELIZABETH DEMOUCHET

  • 1  Count of LA. R.S. 14:24:34 - Principal to Aggravated Battery (Felony)
  • 1  Count of LA. R.S. 14:24:56 - Principal to Criminal Damage to Property (Felony)
  • 1 Count of LA. R.S. 14:24:62 - Principal to Simple Burglary (Felony)
  • 1 Count of LA. R.S. 14:56 - Criminal Damage to Property (Felony)

MARQUIA MITCHELL

  • 1 Count of LA. R.S. 14:34 - Aggravated Battery (Felony)
  • 1 Count of LA. R.S. 14:56 - Criminal Damage to Property (Felony)
  • 1 Count of LA. R.S. 14:62 - Simple Burglary (Felony)

Other arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
