9th-Ranked Louisiana Meets 2nd-Ranked Oregon – Inside The Numbers
The 9th-ranked Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun softball team returns to the diamond on Friday, when they travel to Eugene, Oregon to take on the second-ranked Oregon Ducks in a match-up of two top ten teams.
The single contest will represent the first game of a three-game, weekend, non-conference series, with a doubleheader scheduled on Saturday to wrap-up the series.
First-pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6 o'clock (central daylight time), with Saturday's start time slated for 2 pm.

The series also marks games 3-5 of a season-ending eight-game road trip for Louisiana.
The Cajuns are currently 34-5, overall, and 17-3 in Sun Belt Conference play, after sweeping a conference doubleheader from Appalachian St. last weekend.
UL currently leads South Alabama by one-and-one-half games atop the Sun Belt Conference standings.
Offensively, Louisiana is hitting a .356, along with 81 home runs, 305 runs batted in, and 51 stolen bases in 61 attempts, while out-scoring foes, 344-80.
Pitching-wise, the Cajuns sport an overall, combined, team ERA. of 1.94, compared to a 9.31 for the opposition, while holding foes to a .171 batting average against.
Oregon will enter the series with an overall record of 38-5, and a Pac-12 league mark of 16-2.
The Ducks are currently hitting a .362 as a team, along with 61 homers, and 303 RBI’s, while out-scoring opponents, 327-130.

Oregon leads the all-time series, 5-3, including a 5-2 win over Louisiana in the Citrus Classic in 2011, the last time the two programs met.
