Home Town Kickstart is a spinoff of the highly popular popular Home Town series. The first episode of new renovation series will highlight Minden, plus five other small towns. According to the network, "the show will follow HGTV stars as they complete three renovation projects in each town: the home of a local hero, a small business, and a public space."

Here's what Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, on his Facebook tourism page, Louisiana Main Street, had to say about the upcoming show:

"...Home Town Kickstart, the new HGTV renovation series that will feature City of Minden - Feels Like Home this spring! We can't wait to see Minden, as well as La Grange Kentucky Main Street, the other Main Street community to be featured."

Nungesser adds that Minden is a designated Main Street community and that he Louisiana Main Street program is a proven economic development model for downtown revitalization through public-private partnerships.

And a recent People magazine story also pumped up the show's premiere:

"In the new series Home Town Kickstart Presented by PEOPLE (premiering April 24), the married designer and woodworker are taking all that they've learned from revitalizing their native Laurel, Mississippi over the years, as well as the small community of Wetumpka, Alabama, which they gave a major overhaul on last year's Home Town Takeover, and applying it to six more American towns in need of a boost."

Home Town Kickstart will premiere Sunday, April 24, at 8pm on HGTV.
