Arson Fire Destroys St. Helena Parish Home

Pine Grove, LA: Louisiana State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning announced today that his office is investigating a fire loss in St. Helena Parish and is in need of the public’s help with any information relating to the cause of the fire.

The Pine Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched on February 21, 2011 at 9:31pm to 41969 Highway 16. This property is located next to the Oak Ridge Lounge. When Firefighters arrived they discovered that an explosion and fire had occurred.

State Fire Marshal Investigators have determined that this fire was the act of arson. Anyone having information as to the cause of this fire or the persons responsible are asked to contact the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. Fire Marshal Browning stated, “This crime was very serious and endangered the public and first responders. There is someone out there that has important information we need, please do the right thing and call us”.
