Personal Injury Attorney and KPEL Legal Authority Glenn Armentor awarded his 2018 Pay It Forward Scholarships during a ceremony at his downtown Lafayette offices. Five deserving students were awarded the scholarships by Armentor and his staff who were gathered to make the presentations this morning. The award recipients were nominated by community members and then chosen by a selection committee.

The high school seniors receiving the "$10,000 Pay It Forward Scholarship" include Ahni Calais of Cecilia High School, Tony Robertson of Comeaux High School, Sasha Rudd of Lafayette Christian Academy, Haley Smith of Lafayette High School and Ahraf Swati of Opelousas High School.

At the press conference, Armentor said, "There are more individuals at-risk in a community now than there have been in past years. I was one of them many years ago and if it hadn't been for someone who gave me a chance to change my trajectory, I wouldn't be where I am today."

This year's recipients bring the total number to 33 prospective college students who have been awarded the Pay It Forward Scholarship.
