Acadiana’s beloved mobile coffee trailer, Bayou Barista, is moving from caffeine on wheels to a permanent brick-and-mortar drive-thru location in Breaux Bridge. This transition marks a new chapter for owners Jared and Cathi Soileau, who have long dreamed of serving their renowned coffee to Acadiana full-time.

Known for their full-bodied, locally roasted coffee, Bayou Barista has become a staple in the community—especially at food truck parks and special events.

Jared and Cathi’s passion for coffee and friendly demeanor have won the hearts of many loyal customers, including this author.

The couple recently made the exciting announcement via their official Facebook page:

“We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all of your love and support the past two years. Selling our hearts out has paid off. We quit our full-time jobs and will fulfill our dream of serving up the best coffee to Acadiana. We’re thrilled sick to announce we’re moving out of our trailer and into a brick-and-mortar drive-thru in Breaux Bridge, LA.

“There’s nothing more we would love than to continue serving you the best coffee and espresso drinks. Please come by our new drive-thru coffee location at 102 Refinery, at the corner of Refinery and Berard (Hwy 31). We will be open six days a week, Mon-Fri 6:30 AM to 3 PM and Saturdays from 8 AM to 3 PM. We will serve all of your favorite espresso drinks, frappes, cold brew, always fresh brewed coffee, locally roasted K-Cups, and so much more. Our menu is growing with breakfast items.

“Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram as we grow. Together in one building with Acadiana Jerky and Smokehouse. BBQ will still be served on Sundays 10-2.”

Bayou Barista also shared a heartwarming video featuring a coffee business in Texas taking off with their old trailer, along with footage of their logo being painted on the new drive-thru location. This visual representation of their journey resonated with their loyal customers and followers.

The transition to a permanent location comes after the Soileaus found a welcoming home in Breaux Bridge. Many locals have expressed their need for a good coffee spot in the area, and Bayou Barista has answered the call.

The St. Martin Economic Development Authority celebrated this development with a Facebook post: “You guys have ranked this as Breaux Bridge's #1 business need, and here it FINALLY is! Breaux Bridge will have a brick-and-mortar coffee shop. Let's welcome Bayou Barista to the St. Martin Parish business community! They will open for business on June 3rd and will be located at the corner of Refinery and Berard in the Acadiana Jerky and Smokehouse.”

The local community and Bayou Barista's longstanding fans eagerly anticipate the grand opening on June 3, 2024. Jared and Cathi Soileau’s dedication and hard work have paid off, and the residents of Breaux Bridge and the greater Acadiana area are certainly excited to support their vision.

As Bayou Barista settles into its new home, show them some love, and they will continue to serve up smiles and delicious coffee while they keep living their dreams.
