The Wildcat Foundation of America is teaming up with Petsmart stores  for their "Beat the Heat" program to help indigent pet owners spay their pet cats.  Dawn Abbott of the Foundation says the foundation has funding for 300 pets to be spayed beginning this Thursday.

Today on "Mornings with Ken & Bernie" Abbott outlined the program and explained that reservations are being taken now to begin the program this Thursday.  With short gestation periods of approximately 66 days cats can overrun a neighborhood in a short period of time unless feral and domestic cats are spayed.  She explained that feral cats are trapped, spayed and then released while domestic cats are spayed at a cost of only $20 with help from the "Beat the Heat" program co-sponsored by Petsmart and the Wildcat Foundation.
