34-year-old Brindle Donaldson has been arrested after Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies say he locked his former live in girlfriend in the bathroom while she was trying to get back some items she had left there.

Captain Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says the female victim told them she lived with Donaldson for about four months but had since moved out of the home in the 600 block of Credeur Road in West Lafayette Parish. Investigators say Donaldson drilled screws into the bathroom door frame to prevent her from leaving. Police say evidence and statements verified her story.

While deputies were arresting Donaldson, they say they found evidence of manufacturing of methamphetamines. Donaldson is being held on one count of false imprisonment and active bench warrants that were outstanding for failure to appear in court for possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt, driving under suspension and switched license plate. Additional charges are expected later as the Metro Narcotics division is now investigating as well.
