Fortunately, Erin’s 6-year-old sister, Jalie Brunett, was found unharmed but was transported to a hospital to treat unknown injuries. The suspect, Daniel Callihan, who had previously dated the girl’s mother, Callie Brunett, is now being held in the Rankin County Jail.

The case was turned over Thursday to the FBI when it was no longer a missing persons case and became a homicide investigation and abduction.

His accomplice, Victoria Cox, was arrested Friday afternoon.

Chief Joseph Wade said he thinks that once Callihan knew police were on to him he wanted to get rid of the children. "Once he realized law enforcement knew where he was, he tried to do away with the children".

Authorities also reported that there were cages found near the crime scene, leading them to believe this could be a sex trafficking situation.

Based on the crime scene, what it looks like, this may be the place where there has been some human trafficking done We see cages, small animal cages. This is very, very disturbing to me as a police chief and as a father to witness and see what I saw.
