Cajuns Can’t Recover From Cold Shooting In San Marcos
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns started out decently in their matinee match-up against Texas State as they were shooting 40% early in the game but they went on a long drought and didn't make a FG the last 4:05 of the first half. The Bobcats defeat the Cajuns 71-66 and the Cajuns fall to 9-14 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
The Cajuns turned the ball over 9 times in the first half and the good thing for the Cajuns was that the Bobcats only had 3 points off of those turnovers. The Cajuns shot only 26.9% in the first half but made 8 of 9 free throws to help keep them in the game as they only trailed by 7 at halftime.
The Cajuns made a late push in the 2nd half after being down by 13 with about 5 minutes to go but Texas State's early push and the Cajuns cold shooting in the first half did them in. The Cajuns were able to make a few shots late to shoot 50% for the 2nd half but despite the effort the Cajuns came up short.
The Cajuns had 3 players in double digit scoring as they were led by P.J. Hardy who had 16 points. Mylik Wilson had 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists and Jalen Johnson had 12 points and 6 rebounds. The Cajuns will return home to play Georgia State on Thursday and Georgia Southern next Saturday.
