The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball team wanted to end the regular season on a strong note and go 2-0 on the Arkansas swing. They completed part 1 of that Thursday night and were looking to do the same this afternoon when they faced off against Arkansas State. The Cajuns were able to pull away in overtime for the 90-87 victory.

The first half was a tale of runs. The Cajuns would go on a 16-1 run to take a 28-15 lead in the first half. The Red Wolves would come back with a 13-1 run of their own to climb back in the game before the Cajuns would finish with 8 straight points to take an 8 point lead into halftime.

The Cajuns were in for a battle in the 2nd half. As they were pulling away the Red Wolves were always seeming to get right back into the game thanks to Ty Cockfield scored 35 points on the night, including the 3 pointer to tie the game towards the end of regulation. The Cajuns were able to take control in overtime and finish off the Red Wolves.

The win gives the Cajuns the #5 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament and it could set up a rematch of this game. The Cajuns will face the winner of the South Alabama-Arkansas State game on Thursday night at 5 pm.
