The contract for a contained burn system to dispose of Camp Minden explosives has been entered into by the State of Louisiana.Explosive Service International (ESI) has agreed to dispose of approximately 15 Million pounds of M6 propellant and approximately 320,000 pounds of ignited currently stored at Camp Minden. The initial contract for just over $19 million may be increased to over $34 million with additional funding from the U.S. Treasury's Judgement Fund.

Major General Glenn H. Curtis, adjutant general of the Louisiana National Guard said,

Now that ESI has been issued the Notice to Commence Work, they can begin the process of constructing the contained burn system...We will continue to work with all of our partners to ensure we see the safe and complete destruction of the M6 and CBI.
