Charlie Daniels' New Video for 'Geechi Geechi Ya Ya Blues'

In 2018, Charlie Daniels' side project, The Beau Weevils, released an album entitled "Beau Weevils - Songs in the Key of E." The band is comprised of Daniels, Louisiana native James Stroud, Billy Crain and Charlie Hayward.

One of the standout tracks on that album is the swampy, blues-infused track "Geechi Geechi Ya Ya Blues." The song is back, sort of.

Daniels recently called on some of his famous friends to join in for a music video of the song which has been dubbed as the "Quarantine Edition."

The video has just been released and it features guest appearances from Alabama's Randy Owen, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ray Stevens, Larry Gatlin, Crystal Gayle, Rhonda Vincent, Lorrie Morgan, Collin Raye, TG Sheppard and T. Graham Brown.

Daniels describes the song as "down-home, swampy rock meets funk with a little taste of 'Delta' type of style."

However the song is described, somebody who wrote it spent some time in Cajun country.

The song mentions Opelousas, gumbo, and a whole bunch of words in French that we're not too sure Mr. Daniels is pronouncing correct, but we think it still sounds great!
