Below average temperatures this week in Louisiana look to influence the crawfish harvest according to LSU AgCenter researcher Mark Shirley.  He says the lack of rainfall during the summer and fall had an adverse affect on some ponds as well. He says some ponds had access to well water and he believes those will produce better. Shirley says its very important the crawfish ponds have plenty of moisture. He says because of colder temperatures, crawfish supply will be short this week and next. He says the cold weather will probably slow down the catch for 7-10 days
