Commission to Consider Allocating Half a Million to Move Confederate Monument
A committee of the Caddo Commission has voted to recommend allocating up to $500,000 to move the Confederate Monument from in front of the Caddo Parish Courthouse.
The attorney for the Caddo Commission sent a letter to the United Daughters of the Confederacy in late August giving them 90 days to move the monument. But no action has been taken and it's not likely the UDC will take any action to move it.
This feud has been going on for several years. The full commission is expected to take up the funding issue before the end of the year.
