Deliberations Continue In Katrina Police Shooting
A jury is set to deliberate for a third day about five current and former New Orleans police officers charged in the death of a man who was fatally shot before his body was burned after Hurricane Katrina.
Jurors have deliberated for roughly 17 hours from Tuesday to Wednesday without reaching a verdict. They are expected to resume Thursday morning.
A former officer, David Warren, is charged with shooting 31-year-old Henry Glover without justification outside a strip mall on Sept. 2, 2005.
Lt. Dwayne Scheuermann and Officer Gregory McRae are charged with burning Glover's body and beating men who brought the dying man to a makeshift police compound in search of help.
Lt. Travis McCabe and former Lt. Robert Italiano are charged with writing and submitting a false report about the shooting.
