Eunice High School Coach Arrested After Allegedly Battering Student
EUNICE, La. (KPEL) -- A Eunice High School coach was arrested Wednesday amid allegations he battered a student.
According to Eunice Deputy Chief Varden Guillory, on Aug. 27, the student's father "learned of an altercation between his juvenile son and a coach."
The coach, 44-year-old Dwight Collins, turned himself in Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of simple batter, Guillory said.
Collins posted a $500 bond, Guillory said, and a court date has been set for Dec. 23.
Charges against the juvenile are also pending, Guillory said.
