The Federal Aviation Administration has announced that they are toughening policies on unruly passengers.

According to Good Morning America, the FAA is reacting to the rise in unruly passengers on airlines in the US since last week's uprising at the Capitol Building in Washington, DC.

In the past, the FAA dealt with unruly passengers by issuing warnings and civil penalties. Since the increase in unruly passengers, the agency is now going to have a zero-tolerance policy, and issue fines of up to $35,000 and/or imprisonment.

Effective immediately, however, the FAA will not address these cases with warnings or counseling. The agency will pursue legal enforcement action against any passenger who assaults, threatens, intimidates or interferes with airline crew members." - FAA

Videos of unruly airline passengers have been shared on social media since the attack on the US Capitol on January 6th, many of them tagged with the #noflylist hashtag. Several of the videos were of people who had just been placed on the No-Fly List pending an investigation of their alleged participation in the storming of the Capitol building.

It appears that federal authorities are using cell phone data to track down those who were on the grounds of the Capitol building during the time of the uprising, so the list of arrests and the no-fly list will, undoubtedly, continue to grow.
