Tragedy on the Interstate this morning. The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office reports a 39-year-old woman from Plain Dealing lost her life early today, after having a single vehicle wreck on the I-220 Red River Bridge. Sheriff's spokesperson Cindy Chadwick says the woman was driving alone, when she hit the bridge guardrail. The victim is identified as Clara Neal, of Plain Dealing. Chadwick says a car carrying some of Neal's family members was following close behind her, and also stopped when she had the wreck. Chadwick says they witnessed the deadly accident. Chadwick says the accident happened before dawn. Neal was flagging traffic around her wrecked car; family members had pulled over to help, when the big rig hit Neal and her car, and overturned. Chadwick says the driver told deputies he didn't see the woman in the dark. (Lanes were closed for several hours while the wreck was cleared.
