Fayard “Hate(s) Republicans”

NEW ORLEANS — Former Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Caroline Fayard didn't deny or apologize for caustic remarks about Republicans attributed to her in an account of a recent speech, but she didn't fully embrace them either in a Monday interview, saying she had no recording of her off-the-cuff remarks. Among remarks attributed to Fayard during a speech Thursday at the Washington Parish Democratic Party banquet: "I hate Republicans ... They are cruel and destructive. They eat their young."
