A fire hazard on some models has prompted KIA to recall several thousand vehicles.

According to WDSU, officials are encouraging anyone owning the models listed to park the vehicles outside until the recall issue has been resolved. The recall was prompted because of a risk of fire, though no fires or injuries have been reported.

Fox Business is reporting that a short circuit in a control unit could cause an excess of current, posing the risk of fire.

The fix should be an easy one, though, with the replacement of a simple fuse.

vehicles affected include some Sportage models produced between 2017 and 2021 and some 2017-2019 Cadenzas.

You can get the details of the recall on the Fox Business site.
