Firm Chosen To Craft Horse Farm Master Plan

The nonprofit Lafayette Central Park Inc. has chosen an Austin, Texas firm to be the master planner for a central park at Lafayette's Horse Farm.

Design Workshop is a company run by Louisiana native Kurt Culbertson.  That firm was chosen by the nonprofit Lafayette Central Park Inc. group to lead the development of the property in Lafayette.

The Horse Farm used to be owned by University of Louisiana at Lafayette until it was turned over to Lafayette Consolidated Government for development of a park.  UL received a smaller park the city owned on Johnston Street.

As part of the agreement, Lafayette has 10 years to develop the Horse Farm into a park or the property would need to be returned to the university.
