Three high-ranking former Penn State University officials will stand trial on charges stemming from an alleged coverup in the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse scandal.

Former President Graham Spanier, ex-Vice President Gary Schultz and former Athletics Director Tim Curley will stand trial after judge William Wenner concluded the prosecution had presented enough evidence during a preliminary hearing to warrant a trial.

The three have been charged with perjury, obstruction of justice, endangering the welfare of children, conspiracy and failure to report suspected abuse.

Sandusky, a former assistant coach under the late Joe Paterno, was convicted last year of 45 counts of molestation and is serving a 30-60 year prison term in state prison.
