Assistant Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky is going away for a long time.  The judge sentenced him to 30 to 60 years in jail for the 45 counts against him.  They were 45 child sex abuse counts.

Fox News reports, "With his accusers seated behind him in the courtroom, he denied committing "disgusting acts" against children and instead painted himself as the victim."  His sentence means he will be in prison for the rest of his life, and he deserves it.  I only wish the judge would have given him more time.  What kind of person does this children?

I know the thirty to sixty years means that unless the rulings are overturned, he is not getting out of jail, but I wish even more time would have been given to him.  I think more time would be appropriate for all the victims in the case.  Sandusky stood their today claiming his innocence while many of his victims had to listen to it.

What damage has this man done to these victims?  It's probably unimaginable.  They will suffer one way or another for the rest of their lives.  Their parents, family and friends will suffer.  It's something people don't get over.

I don't know if his sentence will have an impact on others who hurt children, but you can only hope that it does.  Does it stop crimes like these?  I don't know.  What I do hope is that other victims of these types of crimes will come forward.  These crimes against children have got to stop. Sandusky should have gotten more time.

Other sentences should be harsher for child predators too.  I say lock them up and throw away the key.  Thirty to sixty years is not enough for someone who steals the innocence of a child.
