The four Acadiana area teams remaining in the 2014 LHSAA boys' state basketball playoff bracket, vying for state championships, will take part in semi-final action this week in the Top 28 at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles.

There are two teams from the Acadiana area remaining in Class 4A, in the St. Thomas More Cougars and the Northside Vikings.

St. Thomas More, the four-seed, will meet top-seeded Landry/Walker on Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock, while Northside, the 11th-seed, will square off with second-seeded East Jefferson on Thursday night at 8 pm.

The two winners will meet for the 4A state crown on Saturday night at 8 o'clock.

 

Lafayette Christian, the second-seed in the 1A bracket, will take on third-seeded Madison Prep at 2:45 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lafayette Christian/Madison Prep winner will play for the state title on Saturday at 2 pm, against the winner of top-seeded Arcadia and fourth-seeded Metairie Park Country Day.

 

In Class B, the second-seeded Midland Rebels will play on Wednesday evening, at 6:15 pm, against third-seeded Anacoco, with the winner facing either top-seeded Florien, or fourth-seeded Fairview, for the Class B crown on Friday night at 6 o'clock.

 

In Class 5A, top-seeded Scotlandville will take on 4th-seeded St. Augustine, while second-seeded Natchitoches Central meets 19th-seeded Thibodaux on Tuesday, with the state title game set for Friday night.

 

The Class 3A semi-finals are scheduled for Thursday, with the championship game set for Saturday.

Bossier, the second-seed, will face University Lab, the third-seed, in one semi-final match-up, while fourth-seeded Richwood meets eighth-seeded Donaldsonville in the other.

 

Two Cinderella teams remain in the Class 2A bracket, in 14th-seeded St. James and 28th-seeded North Caddo, with the semi-finals slated for Thursday, and the title game set  for Saturday.

St. James will take on second-seeded Lakeview, while North Caddo faces top-seeded Riverside Academy.

 

In Class C, the top four seeds remain, with the semi-finals set for Monday, and the title game scheduled for Friday.

In the semi-finals, top-seeded Elizabeth will take on fourth-seeded Sicily Island, while second-seeded New Living Word battles third-seeded Atlanta.
