Gerald Boudreaux To Run For La. State Senate District 24 Seat
Lafayette, LA -- The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Director, Gerald Boudreaux, a
thirty-three (33) year veteran of local government, is scheduled to officially announce his
candidacy for the Louisiana State Senate District 24 seat on Friday, January 30, 2015,
beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Carencro Community Center.
Boudreaux was one of the top Division One College Basketball officials for twenty-eight
years. He was selected and officiated in the NCAA tournament for over twenty seasons
and worked the NCAA Final Four on five times.
Boudreaux has been appointed and has served as departmental director by four
different Mayors in Lafayette Parish since 1985. The District 24 seat encompasses
residents in St. Landry, St. Martin and Lafayette Parishes.
Boudreaux serves on the following boards/commissions:
- Miles Perret Cancer Services Center
- Martin Luther King Holiday
- Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS)
- Ragin Cajun Athletic Foundation (RCAF)
He is a past member and officer of:
- Kiwanis Southwest LA
- United Way of Acadiana
- Chamber of Commerce
- Community Foundation of Acadiana
He is married to Carlos Cooper Boudreaux, and they are the parents of daughters
Brittney, Whittney, and Hallie. The family are active members.
