CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) of South Louisiana is looking for help with backpacks for foster children.

When children are removed from homes to be placed in a foster home, it is often done so quickly that there is no time to pick up any of their belongings. That's where you come in!

CASA of SOLA is collecting school supplies for children who are moved to foster homes while school is in session.

Here a list of the needed items for each backpack:

If you are loaded and/or loathe shopping, you can drop some cash by donating to CASA online at their website.

Are you as cash-strapped as I am? You can still help! Use social media to share this story and then volunteer your time to help fill the backpacks July 26th, from 11 am to 3 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church on Roselawn Blvd in Lafayette.

Backpack supplies can be dropped off in advance at the CASA office on La Rue France in Lafayette or at UBS Financial in River Ranch.

For more information about the Backpack Project, volunteering for CASA, or donating, contact Stephanie LeBlanc at 504-909-8866
