Home on Lafayette Street Catches Fire Friday Morning

Lafayette firefighters say a fire caused heavy damage to home at 609 Lafayette Street on Friday morning.

According to a press release from the Lafayette Fire Department, neighbors noticed smoke coming from a bedroom window and called 911 to report it. By the time firefighters got on scene, flames were coming from a side window.

No one was inside the home and the fire was brought under control after starting in a bedroom.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
