House Speaker Joel Robideaux Switches To Republican Party

House Speaker Pro Tempore Joel Robideaux jumps off the political fence and announces he's joining the Republican Party. 

After a private meeting with Governor Bobby Jindal, Robideaux announced the change today. Robideaux has been an Independent his entire political life, but he says that anyone who questions his conservative principle need only look at his voting record. Robideaux has twice received the Guardian of Small Business award, the only one to receive the award more than once. Robideaux has served in the Louisiana House since 2004, sitting on several committees. He was elected to Speaker Pro Tempore in 2010.
