Houston Pedestrian Dies in Crash on Evangeline Thruway

37-year-old Hunter Hughes of Houston, Texas, is dead after a crash around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 2800 block of the Southeast Evangeline Thruway.

Lafayette Police Department spokesman Sgt. Wayne Griffin says, for reasons unknown  Hughes - a pedestrian - walked on to the road, where he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the center northbound lane.

Authorities continue to investigate.
