Isaac, Nearing Acadiana, is Downgraded to Tropical Storm Status

Isaac has just been downgraded to a Tropical Storm.  The storm has sustained winds of 70 miles an hour. It's location is 29.8 N and 90.9 W, putting the storm 55 miles from the Baton Rouge.  The storm is moving northwest at 6 miles per hour.

The hurricane watch and warning has been discontinued with the latest update with a tropical storm warning replacing most of that.

Rainfall from this storm will total between 7 and 14 inches over much of the area.  Wind speed will weaken with the storm in the next 48 hours.
