GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — A Palestinian health official says a senior member of Hamas is among at least three people killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip today.

Meanwhile, militant rocket fire continues following the collapse of a three-day truce aimed at ending the war between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli military says militants have fired 70 rockets since the truce expired, while it has targeted more than 30 sites in Gaza in response.

The renewed violence comes while Palestinian negotiators remain in Egypt in hopes of salvaging talks aimed at ending the violence.

In four weeks of fighting, more than 1,900 Gazans have been killed. Sixty-seven people have been killed on the Israeli side, including three civilians.
