(KTDY) - Temperatures are warming up, and soon you'll be hitting the beach, and there's one mistake most parents make that we hope you avoid.

The beach is a great place to bring your kids during the summer, even if the temperatures are soaring. There's always plenty of room for kids to roam, and is there anything better than a gulf breeze on a hot summer day?

However, if you have young kids, there's one thing you need to keep in mind before you put your toes in the sand this summer. Sure, you always need to have sunscreen on yourself or your kids, and you should always keep an eye on them when they are in and out of the water. Remember, never let your young children explore the water alone, especially if they can't swim.

Now, what's one of the most common mistake parents make at the beach when they're with their children? According to a video I came across on social media, it's bringing your young children out to the beach midday.

Best Time to Go To The Beach

A local resident of Destin, Florida, said that one of the biggest mistakes you can make when visiting the beach is bringing your young kids out too late. Rather, you should wake up early in the morning with your kids and take them out while it's not so hot or as packed along the beach.

This allows your child to explore the beach while there aren't as many people out yet, and it's not as hot. Once more, beachgoers do show up, and the temperatures begin to soar, your child willl likely be ready to return to the house or condo you're in, which makes for a much more pleasant beach experience.

The local resident also noted in the beach tutorial that a midday nap is always a must, and by the time your child wakes up, many are retreating back to their place, and the temperatures on the beach are much more pleasant. Therefore, if your kid wants to return to the beach later in the day, it isn't as hot or as busy.

And on a personal note, there's no better time in my opinion to be on the beach as the sun begins to set. A great time to have a young kid out enjoying the beach.

So, I wanted to share this with you as you plan your next beach visit. Wake up early, enjoy the beach, take a nap, and then later return to the white sands. Here are a few more safety reminders for parents as you plan your next beach trip.
