New Iberia Father Warns BB Gun Prank Left Daughter Injured During Homecoming Week
(New Iberia, LA) - Pranks on students during the week of Homecoming are a rite of passage for everyone in high school, but one New Iberia dad says what happened with his daughter went way too far.
The dad, in an interview, said these kinds of antics are not fun when people get hurt and property is damaged. Patrick Willis Jr. says some pranksters driving by the house were shooting BB guns, and one BB ended up lodged in his child's cheek!

The father says he had to take his child to have it removed, and that's not funny or part of "pranks" for any Homecoming week.
Y'all, we all like a good bit of fun, a party, a raucous time when it's Homecoming week, but you have to draw the line when someone gets a bb stuck in their face because you were shooting at their house.
Willis says these kids also shattered their glass screen door. He adds that, most importantly, this situation was bad enough, but what if kids go further and someone else gets hurt or even killed?
They have filed a police report. Westgate High School plays Opelousas this Friday, September 25, at 7 p.m.

This incident should serve as a warning to all parents in Acadiana who have Homecoming events still on the way this year. You need to know where your children are and what they are doing.
I bet many of you are asking the same question: "What ever happened to just using toilet paper and shaving cream?"
Willis says safety should be the priority not only for his 17-year-old Westgate student, but for all students.
In addition to being costly for his daughter in terms of the shock of what happened, he also has to pay to repair the window and screen door, so he's looking at about $2,000.
