Louisiana Police Officer Injured in Crash During Police Escort

A police officer in Slidell, Louisiana is recovering after being involved in an accident on Monday while escorting government officials.

The officer who was on the motorcycle was escorting local and state officials as they evaluated storm damage in the area.

According to the Slidell Police Department post on social media, the officer on the motorcycle hit an unmarked unit of Louisiana State Police at an intersection.

The crash is under investigation and the officer sustained suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital.

"The Slidell Police Department is asking that everyone pray for the officer and for a speedy recovery."

The name of the officer who was injured in this crash Monday afternoon was not released in the post on Facebook.
