If you receive food stamps, then you now have another option when it comes to buying your groceries.

Through the personal shopping delivery service Instacart you can now buy groceries on its platform online with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP benefits).

Initially, Instacart launched a pilot program in Alaska through Safeway stores. But now, it has expanded to more than 10,000 stores across the country.

What is Instacart and how does it work?

Instacart is a grocery delivery and pick-up service that operates in the United States and Canada. The company offers its service via a website and mobile app.

The service allows customers to order groceries from participating retailers with the shopping done by a personal shopper.

There are delivery fees for each order. The delivery fee is $3.99 for orders of $35 or more and $7.99 under that amount. Instacart also offers a membership service called Instacart+ for a monthly fee of about $9.99 or an annual fee of $99.
