Louisiana’s First and Only Indoor Airsoft Park Opens Saturday
It's a first for Louisiana and could be the first of many for the Bayou State if the plans go as expected. The proprietors of Louisiana's only indoor Airsoft field plan to open their doors for customers, competitors, and anyone who is a fan of Airsoft this weekend.
If you're not familiar with Airsoft think of it as Laser Tag but with plastic projectiles. Or, if you can't recall playing Laser Tag think of former your hand into the shape of a gun and saying pow pow pow but with plastic projectiles. Yes, Airsoft is a shooting game. It's also a survival game. It's also a game of strategy. And it's also a game of physical endurance.
Some things you might want to consider before you jump into the realm of playing Airsoft. For me, the first consideration is this, it could hurt. No, it won't hurt the way getting hit by a pitched baseball hurts but those little plastic projectiles can sting. Sometimes they leave a mark and in some cases, they might even draw blood.
A lot of Airsoft fans like to play the game outdoors where there is plenty of room to run, hide, and strategize. But the problem with that concept is that you need a large outdoor space. And if you play in a public outdoor space there is a good chance that someone will mistake your "game" for a full-blown shootout.
Introducing Alexandria Airsoft Adventures
The new Alexandria Airsoft Adventures plans to open on Saturday in the Alexandria Mall in Alexandria, Louisiana. The facility is near Michaels in the mall and is across from Victoria's Secret. The facility opened its doors to patrons on Monday but the Grand Opening is planned for this Saturday.
Jeremy Morrow the catalyst behind the new facility told KALB Television in Alexandria that he anticipates guests will come in with questions but leave after about three hours exhilarated and exhausted by the experience. The experience is a great way for families, groups, civic and social organizations, and just groups of friends to get together and enjoy physical activity while attempting to shoot one another.
If you don't have any Airsoft gear don't worry the facility will rent guns, gear, gadgets, and anything else you might need to make the experience a memorable one. The hours of operation are from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. They are open from 11:30 to 5:30 on Sundays. Monday and Tuesday the field will open at 10:30 but close at 7:30 on Monday and 6:30 on Tuesday.
