(KMDL-FM) Wednesday night is a big night for lottery players in Louisiana. Our state participates in three really big "draw games" on Wednesdays. In two of those games, Louisiana tickets scored major prizes. In the multi-state Powerball game, a Louisiana ticket is reported to be a $2 million winner. Another Louisiana ticket won $100,000 in the Easy 5 game.

One gaming publication recently reported that, based on statistics through the years, July was the unluckiest month for lottery players in Louisiana. But two big wins in one night should help quell that belief, although there still hasn't been a winner in the Louisiana Lottery's Lotto game for several months now.

What Were The Powerball Winning Numbers for Wednesday, July 15, 2026?

The estimated jackpot in Wednesday's Powerball was $499.2 million; that's for the annuitized jackpot. The cash payout was estimated to be $221.0 million. Since there was no ticket sold for Wednesday's game that matched all the numbers needed to claim the jackpot prize, we do know that when we play Powerball again on Saturday night, the jackpot totals will be much higher.

According to the Louisiana Lottery's Big Wins in Louisiana page, a ticket sold in Louisiana did earn a Match 5 Million prize. A Match 5 Million is when the numbers on the player's ticket match all five of the white ball numbers. In that case, a prize of $1 million is awarded. If the player has the Power Play function of the game on their ticket, that prize is doubled to $2 million.
As of this report, the Louisiana Lottery has not posted point-of-purchase details, but we should note that at this early hour, 1:30 AM CDT, the Powerball website has not verified the results of Wednesday's drawing as officials. All of those verifications should come later this morning.
Powerball Delayed in Verifying Results: They are Confirmed Now
[Update 07.16.2026 -3:45 AM CDT] Powerball has now confirmed the results of Wednesday's drawing. The Powerball jackpot on Saturday will be an estimated $526 million for the annuitized jackpot. The cash payout is estimated to be $233.5 million by the time Saturday's drawing is held.
Louisiana Easy 5 Ticket Wins $100,000 on Wednesday Night
The other big win in Louisiana on Wednesday was in the Easy 5 game. A single ticket in that game matched all the numbers needed to claim the $100,000 jackpot prize. The Easy 5 jackpot will reset to $50,000 when that game is next played on Saturday night.
Lotto from the Louisiana Lottery continues to grow toward a new state record jackpot. It's still got a little way to go to get there, but the prize of $2.7 million on a one-dollar wager is pretty tempting. Lotto will next draw on Saturday night.
